I'm getting an early birthday present from my parents: new big suitcase! Which is something I sorely need since my old one completely destroyed one of its wheels last time I used it. And since I travel a lot, be it to see family/friends or to sell at conventions, this is really awesome. While I do have a great backpack, suitcase can carry different shaped things.

TheStrangerous:Aaaaahhh... nuthin' but a good Rick and Morty season premiere.
Watched it without ever getting hyped or watching trailers. Best way to experience something!
However, I will never look at this site's mascot the same way anymore...

Yeah, that was a good show. Surprisingly little hype beforehand, I only heard it was finally starting the day it aired. Granted, I don't have cable so I wouldn't have seen commercials for it, but I would have thought it would be bigger pop-culture news, given the hype for Season 3.

I'm making a fursuit head for my character Timelapse I ordered some of the fur the other week so I've been working on that and surprisingly it hasn't failed yet. The good thing is that I now know all I need is half a metre of the fur fabric for each colour.
I'm making the head so I can make let's plays on my yt channel, a few of my subs want me to play Happy Wheels, but I don't want to show my face on camera so I'm doing this instead.

A silly thing but a few days ago I downloaded Planet Zoo (basically next-gen Zoo Tycoon), which I've been really excited about. I was really frustrated trying to figure out how to play it since there's so many more menus than Zoo Tycoon. But after lots of tutorial levels and messing around in sandbox mode, something finally clicked and I was able to make a habitat relatively easily! c:

Bad thing: near-blizzard conditions hit my area today, making some roads impassible.
Good thing: I didnβt have to go to my night classes, which is giving me more time to get caught up on assignments.

A copy of the updated version of Life on Earth by David Attenborough arrived for me today! I'm excited to read it again as the original book is one of my all time favourite books.

I got an e-mail from Ed Kline for the first time in months. Seems he's been preoccupied lately with a big house move that's coming up, but contrary to what some have suggested he is still alive and well and wants to get back to making comics as soon as possible.

GMan003:
You might not be quite as lucky as you think. You probably got a Magic Welcome Deck, and probably an equivalent for the other game. They're built to be easy for new players to pick up, and are given to game stores to give away for free to new players. (The first hit is always free... there's a reason Magic is nicknamed "cardboard crack".) I never played with them myself but they're supposed to be a good way to slowly ease into it.
That said, the card game community is usually some of the nicest people you'll meet. The socially-inept angry neckbeard stereotype is unfortunately sometimes true, but such people are generally shunned and ostracized until they learn to behave decently. For the most part, everyone is accommodating towards new players, strives to be polite, and focus on the positive. You don't often see people gloating over a win, or getting too worked up over anything. And lots of people are generous, giving cards away left and right. I once saw someone rebuild a $1000+ deck that had been stolen, out of donated cards. There's a weird dissonance, everyone knows it's weird that little pieces of cardboard are so valuable, so they alternate between double-sleeving them for maximum protection, and handing away expensive cards for barely any reason.

Oh yeah, for mgt its one of those "learn how to play" decks, that has 28 cards of one colour and 28 cards of some other colour, which are not as expensive as real decks. But its black/white and I was interested in such a deck either way. For Keyforge its a real deck bc Keyforge has no other decks (btw if someone is into card games and want to start playing a new one Keyforge is very cool because all you have to buy is ONE deck. And they are like 10$). It is definitely something to hook you up because now I bought card sleeves in three different colours and so on, but I wouldn't even pick any of those games up if I didn't get those cards for free bc I already have too many hobbies. And yeah, most of nerdy people are very, very kind, I mean we all probably met THAT ONE GUY but most of the people are fine. Like I don't know anyone there but some dude who we had only met teached us how to play Keyforge for 3h straight and he was very excited, even tho we play horribly. I have so many horror stories about nerds but then for every horrible story I have one about people being extremally kind, helpful and just nice.

I have now maintained my workout regime for six weeks straight.
It's not a super-intense workout, I'm not trying to get SUPER JACKED or even lose that much weight, I'm just trying to not have a beer gut. I don't even drink beer. Can't tell if I've made much progress on that front yet, but I have tripled my workout since week one, so clearly it's doing something.

I just got off the phone confirming that one of my student loans is officially paid off. I had to drain my entire savings (my personal savings...not my partner's,) but I can finally say I got one paid off! And it only took me 10 years to pay the lowest one!
I really would have rather put it to the higher interest loan...but at this point I just want knock them out as I can. The larger one is...larger than what my reasonably new car cost at time of purchase...o_O
Now to put that bill's payment towards the car loan :/ It's progress, man!
