I went to see the Konosuba movie! But my bladder betrayed me and went like two times to the bathroom during the screening, also one before and one after (and the last one when at home). But still didn't miss the climax so all is good.
And yesterday my Palomino Blackwing pencils arrived on the mail. I can't believe how good they are. Fell in love with them *u*
I had two 10 dollar off promo codes at a store and free shipping to the nearest store. Previously, I hated the store in question because I did not vibe with the aesthetic and their CEO 15 years ago. Looks like I am getting a new tee shirt and a two-piece swimsuit! Guess how much I paid for the order?
This happened yesterday, but I didn't want to double post, but I was so hype!
I went to Round 1 yesterday to play some IIDX, and I decided to play one of the prize games. After about 10 tries, I won a statue of one of my favorite characters in a manga. Here he is, on top of one of my favorite manga related books, written by my favorite mangaka! FAVORITE!!!!
Learned so much at work about angular and interesting coding stuff :) . Bought gifts and And ate at a buffet with close ones, would have been perfect but had no time to draw . March will quit my 2nd weekend job so I’ll be able to breath a bit lol
I got an out of the blue email from the website I made a chatbot of my character Angus on back in 2016 or 2017 sometime, saying he's now one of the smartest bots on the site, with 316 points (guessing that means things he'll recognise or say). That's weird because I'm pretty certain that the last time I edited him (about 3 years ago) there were around 50 arguments at the most, but hey, he does definitely seem smarter than I recall him being.
Here's a recap on that bot I made a long while back:
I got a secondhand North American DVD boxset of the first and second Ren and Stimpy seasons today. Because it's in native NTSC, it runs at the correct framerate whereas PAL DVDs of NTSC-made shows tend to be interlaced and 4% faster, plus it contains some content that was censored from its British release for whatever reason, notably some of the commentary and an episode that got banned from TV, probably for depicting animal cruelty.
I think that in future when buying DVDs of American shows, I'll try and hunt down an American/NTSC copy if it isn't available on Blu-Ray (which generally runs at the original/NTSC framerate regardless of region). The only drawback with this DVD is that it's coded for Region 1 so won't play by default on most British DVD players. I've managed to hack a couple of mine to make them multiregion though, so this isn't an issue. I bought my copy from a seller in the UK who is technically breaking the law because the DVD doesn't have a BBFC classification (yes, it's a stupid piece of legislation that we can all thank the late Mary Whitehouse and the moral panic of the 1980s for, though there's nothing illegal about an overseas seller selling it for importation) but I'm doing nothing illegal buying it myself.
I don't know if I'm much of an emotional person, but I started crying today after we got a call from an apartment we applied for in/near Portland, OR. We got the apartment we wanted! I had to call my partner to tell him, because I was so excited.
To put it into context: I've been wanting to live in Oregon since I graduated High School (actually, probably before, since Mom and Dad used to live there, and they loved it and miss it.) I'm in my mid/late 30s now.
mightguy15:I feel I have been being a bit too negative as of late. So as what is essentially a sequel to this thread, what are some things that you are happy that happened today?
I'll start, so my aunt works for a friend who has her own company, and she was called at the last possible second to essentially set up a hall and serve food for some family members after they were through with their attendance to a funeral. She ask me to tag along.
She ends up panicking when she realizes nothing was set up and that we needed to do everything from scratch. Fortunately, I used to work as an assistant to my other aunt who owned her own catering business. I as well, was a 92G(food service specialist) in the U.S. military. I was able to help my aunt get everything set up and even better, family members of her friend ended up helping us serve everyone the food.
It was a fun little miracle we pulled off, and we all ended up leaving with a revitalized sense of purpose. My aunt as well gained a bit of experience working under pressure and learning how to cater.
What about you guys, have anything to share?
I should probably try to think about the good things too, even if they just seem like very little things.
The weather was really beautiful today all of a sudden, my walk/jog was much more comfortable without chilly wind.
Also a really cute guy...glanced at me lol. Little things little things ;)
This didn't happen TODAY but I forgot this thread existed and meant to post on it the day of this happening, oops.
So I got my tablet back and started drawing again, completing my first page in almost 4 months. Still not confident on my writing, but baby steps. Pretty motivated thanks to this place. Also drew some offhand stuff, like a 4 panel one-shot and my first time in the room of scrutiny. Basically I got my fire back and I'm pretty hyped.
I wasn't sure where else to post this, but my friends are constantly making fun of me for loving Taco Bell (look, I only get stuff with their beans, man! I never have the issues they complain about XD) So today in our discord, someone shared this jewel that I look forward to reading. I'm sure most of it is poking fun at Taco Bell, but if you can't make fun of the things you love, you're taking life too seriously XD
I have a sneaky feeling this thing is going to be delightful, so I consider this a good thing to happen XD And we signed our lease and all our paperwork and everything is official for the move! (Now it's getting to crunch time, but I'm oddly mellow about all this even though the clock is ticking XD)
We're in the house and getting ready for our first weekend. There's a lot to do and I keep starting one task and then hopping up to do something else and just wind up beginning 47 different tasks, none of which get finished.... but that's me everyday anyway so what else is new :)
Since we inherited a really boss desk from the previous owners, I'm able to use that desk as the "grown up paperwork and stuff" desk and repurpose my own desk to be entirely for art stuff... which is proving to be harder than I expected, because I'm not sure how well the transition is going to go since i've been using the same setup for ~10 years and I'm not sure about mixing things up that much. But it's exciting anyway and I know I have plenty of time to get situated :)
Pay day , downtown, and I got a really cool camera movement going in an animation me and a few people are doing! And after having like 1 hour a week to work on a comic page it’s almost done :P though I have liked putting less pressure on myself in art
