I was thinking about auto scrolling as a feature that'd be real cool to see! I'd be on the fence about implementing it myself since I could foresee it getting wonky and running into problems depending on the device (but could always media query it up). Regardless seeing it in action on other comics could be cool and might change my mind! One could actually do this with relatively little JS/JQuery but I'm sure Kyo'd make something more thorough and tested xD.

Also for having the last page/image in a stacked upload link to the next page, you can actually do that now but as far as I know only if you're using the "html" upload option. You'd have to give your last <img> divs a class or hard link it to the next page by using the comic fury code (I think it's [v:nextpage] and [v:prevpage] respectively). Having that feature as an option in this new multi image upload, or just having a way to customize individual images css/js would be cool :D

I'm kind of thinking of adding an infinite scroll thing, integrated into the CF site itself, as an alternate browsing mode for webcomics. Make the whole thing work well on phones, and that way people can have a mobile version of their site despite 11 years (and counting!) of now customized non-mobile layouts. Although before I do anything like that, I'll spend some time making CF itself work better on phones (yes, there will be an option to turn off the mobile layout - I know the question will come if I don't say this now).

Kyo:Definitely always go for the feature request, I love hearing peoples ideas.

in your webcomic settings, you can find an option labelled "Use comic image as link to next page?", which you can turn off to disable the links on the comic images.

the clicking to go to the image below is a very interesting idea. Would love to hear others to chime in what they think about that, I could definitely see that being useful although I'm not sure if it'd be a little confusing to people. I'll add a loop for the individual image components to make adding custom stuff like this a bit easier

Thanks Kyo! I forgot about that option. I guess I was selfishly hoping to have my cake and eat it. I love the intuitivity of just clicking the page to proceed to the next page, which benefits a comic like mine where I really want the flow between pages to be seamless and as undisruptive as possible. I'll consider adding a larger 'next' tab below each page as a compromise.

I need to look into this, thanks for the suggestion! I must second that I'd love to be able to customize individual page images with css/js.

Sounds fantastic! Thanks for looking into it Kyo!

Really gave me problems trying to load my update for tomorrow. Still not 100% sure if it went, or got uploaded twice, or what. I guess I may be in for an unpleasant surprise around 12:30 AM. Or not.

What I'm saying is...you've redecorated the place. I don't like it. XD

what kind of problems were you having?

It kept saying there was no image uploaded or whatever after I clearly did. It would go down in that thumbnail thingy, but still say no image. So I'm not sure what was going on there.

so would there be a thumbnail of the image displayed? If you run into trouble again, can you please take a screenshot? And maybe hit f12 and swap over to "console", and see if it's showing any errors.

Also, how'd you fix it, just refresh and try the same image again, or did you have to alter the image in some way?

Sorry for all the questions, this'd be a javascript issue most likely which means it's happening in your browser, so it's kind of hard to debug without being able to reproduce it myself

Not sure if I did fix it. It eventually just said it went, and went to the usual β€œyour update has been posted” thing. Hopefully it’ll post at 12:30 am like it was supposed to.

well I mean you can just head to the "Edit/Delete Comics" screen to check if it's there, and if there are any duplicates.

If you run into trouble again in the future, please take a screenshot, and hit F12 and check the console for any error messages (you can just take a screenshot of that as well if you want) - that'd really help me out a lot, so I can make this thing as reliable as possible!

Turns out it just updated twice with the same comic, so I just deleted the second one. Better than not updating at all, I guess.

Something about the multi image uploader keeps the normal Upload page from working properly on my computer. I'd use the button to select my page, but then the update button gets greyed out. Is there an option anywhere for me to use the older Upload page? I'd rather not have to leave the house just to upload a comic page, especially one that isn't even 100kb.

what browser are you using? Also can you hit f12 when uploading to open up your browsers javascript console, and tell me if there are any error messages that show up? I'll get that resolved for ya

I guess an outdated version of Google Chrome. I've been told to update it like it's the easiest thing in the world, but I just haven't been able to. Of course now it finally loads the page right after I've gone and complained.

Nah, it's cause I changed stuff just based on guessing what might be causing the problem. I think it was probably because I was using the javascript "includes" method instead of indexOf, which I then went and fixed. It's a really simple thing that doesn't do anything fancy, but apparently it has somewhat poor support on older browsers.

Ah... this is the first I'm seeing of this, I coulda used this
when I was doing my magic comic!

So one only uploads with the multi-pages option, and
they'd get pages stacked on top each other?

okay, I finally got around to adding the promised image loop. It works like this:

[l:comicparts]
    [v:l.imageonlyhtml]
[/]

where [v:l.imageonlyhtml] is the code just for an image tag without any link surrounding it. There's also [v:l.html] which is the full html code including links, as well as [v:l.width], [v:l.height] and [v:l.imageurl]

The built in loop variables, which are described at the bottom of this page should probably also come in handy. In particular [v:l.is_last] as well as [v:l.iteration]/[v:l.aiteration]

so to have each image be a link to the next image you could do something like this (i did not test this)
[c:comicimagetype=multiimage]
    [l:comicparts]
        <div id="img-[v:l.iteration]">
            [c:!l.is_last]
                <a href="#img-[v:l.aiteration]">[v:l.imageonlyhtml]</a>
            [/]
            [c:l.is_last]
                [v:l.html]
            [/]
        </div>
    [/]
[/]
[c:comicimagetype!=multiimage]
    [v:comicimage]
[/]
