On the page it looks like this;

No matter how many comments there are for the page, it will always say "0"
How do I get it to accurately state the number of comics for the most recent page?

[v:l.comments] is a loop variable, so it'll display the amount of comments for the last blog it displayed before that variable. You're looking for [v:latestcomiccomments]
