Hi everyone! I’ve decided I now have enough of a comic available to read in order to justify a shameless advertisement. So, here we go! Feel free to jump in here with questions or comments!

I started Shadowed Fates in March of this year, and I’ve been steadily working on it ever since.
The comic follows the lives of two of my dear DnD characters as they meet, explore, level up and do a lot of growing. It updates faithfully every Tuesday, with surprise Wednesday pages sprinkled in for good measure and to keep it moving along.

Shadow and Kaiden are just getting started! They’re off on a new adventure in Chapter 3, which is the chapter I’m currently working on.
If you like dnd, or fantasy settings this is for you. If you like character interaction, this is also for you. I have a lot of fun with dialogue, and Shadows development from a somewhat naive adventurer to a hardened hero will be a slow burn.

There will also be some romance sprinkled in! What is a good dnd campaign without some romance, after all…?

Tuesday is update Day!
Page 59 was another that was completed back in August. I kind of hated every panel except the red one, but I didn’t want to spend a lot of time redrawing it. I’m not sure why I struggled so badly to draw this page. Some come easier than others, I guess.

Tomorrow will be a bonus Wednesday update! Happy Tuesday, everyone.

Page 61 was a fun one for me, but also rather personal. Shadow falls under the ace-umbrella, but he doesn’t have a word to understand or label his feelings. Despite his mom being well intentioned, he was often left feeling pretty ashamed over his lack of interest in girls at home.
I myself am also ace, and a lot of Shadow’s struggles are my own.

A general update and bump to say that I’ve got all of May’s pages lined up, which is so awesome to me. Having Patreon has meant I have to stay pretty far ahead, since they read over a month in advance there.

I have two more pages to ink and color and May will be done, and on to June’s pages. Sometimes I wonder how far ahead I can get? Im pretty excited for the pages I’ve done for May..they’re so nice art wise. I have really loved watching the pages evolve as I go.

Page 62 is the first of my favorite type of interaction between these two: Kaiden being flirty and Shadow ignoring him. They’re friends for years to come, and Shadow gets to be a master at pretty much tuning him out.

I loved drawing this page and I think it shows. I particularly loved drawing the little lightening bugs on Curled Up Shadow while he’s asleep.

Pages 63 and 64 are two that I was really looking forward to posting. We finally get to see Kaiden’s dnd class! I had a lot of fun doing the fire on his blade, and I think it shows.

Wow, finally the vertical pages are here. I drew page 65 quite some time ago, I don’t even know anymore. I’ve learned a lot about pacing and story telling in this scrolling format since, and I really enjoy it.

To celebrate the New Year, January will have updates twice a week all month long! Every Tuesday and Wednesday, look for a new page. This should get the comic caught up to Patreon by the end of the month, although Patrons have already seen all of January’s pages.

The one year anniversary of when I started working on Shadowed Fates is approaching! I really would love to do one of those character Q&A sessions, nicely drawn.

This means I need help from readers! If you’ve got a question for any of the characters we’ve met, serious or silly, please shoot me a message, leave a comment, or ask here! I actually got a great response and I have more than enough!

On both page 71 and 72, we get to see a little bit of Kaidens wild side.. or the aftermath of it.
Kaiden has pretty poor impulse control when he’s having fun, and one thing can quickly lead to another when he goes out alone.
When he’s in larger cities and towns, Kaiden enjoys drinking, gambling, smoking whatever is offered, visiting “friends” he has made or making new ones, and generally making poor decisions.

I was both dreading and excited for these pages, because they really don’t shine the positive light Kaiden tries to project to people. He has a lot of problems that I hope we can explore and come to understand.

Chapter 2 is nearly done! February will be a hiatus for me, but the comic will continue to update with reader questions and answers.
March will have updates every Tuesday and Wednesday to celebrate ONE YEAR!!? of Shadowed Fates. Huzzah

Chapter two is officially done! It seems like I drew the last page so long ago that it was a struggle not to redo it and make it better if I could. Kaiden is internally freaking out over his mistake, but his feelings often manifest outwardly in anger.

I was being lazy about it, but you’re right. Thanks for the little push.

Next week will be the last Q&A strip, and then the comic will celebrate it’s one year anniversary with updates two times a week all month during March.

Im really grateful to everyone who asked questions, I got more than I expected and I had fun doing them.
During my little hiatus I have rested my hand a lot and done a lot of packing for a move.
I’m super excited for chapter three and if you haven’t caught up now is the time!

It’s TUESDAY SO there’s a new page up! Thank you for reading, I’m excited for this months updates.

I got a lot of nice/funny comments on this week’s page, which tells me y’all wanna either want to see Kaiden get smacked, Shadow going feral, or both.
