Comic Fury Zine is now accepting applications for Summer 2022! This zine is SAFE FOR WORK, and as such, all comics should be relatively tame (no nudity, no cursing, minimal violence-you get the idea. Like fights are okay, but no blood or gore).
All Applications must fit the zine's theme:

Zine Application Rules—Deadline for application is April 22, 2022
Your submission must fit the theme to be accepted. This is to help create a cohesive zine. To be fair and non-discriminatory, Comic Fury Zine (CFZ) accepts applications on a first come, first served basis. Details below.
Submissions must be:
*1-5 pages in length.
Exception: "Gag a Day" comics. One page: 2 or more panels.
*To apply, we accept rough drafts, thumbnails, and storyboards. Subject to approval.
NOTE: Applications DO NOT have to be completed pages, unless you want have them all done as a first draft.
*Keep it safe for work! If you want to have less censorship, the next NSFW will be the Fall/Winter issue of 2022.
*All submissions must have a statement allowing your submission to be shared as part of the CFZ, according to the Creative Commons Licensing we use. Artists maintain ownership of their art.
*Final pages must be .png, 5.5 in. x 7.75 in. All text must be .50 in. inside the page (the safety). You can view our traditional page tutorial here. I'll be doing a Photoshop, Clipart Studio (er, Manga Studio, I only have old sh*t), and possibly GIMP.

Your comic must be hosted on Comic Fury to apply. You will be sent an e-mail with the schedule after your proposed idea is accepted. If you want to collaborate with other artists on this, that's groovie. If you want to have cameos of characters from other comics, that's groovie, too, just get permission from that artist first! They will need to contact us so we know you have permission. Please, if you are being collaborative, make sure the comics are not just inside jokes/references: keep in mind, we're trying to pull readers from outside of the community in, so we want people to enjoy and understand the comics :3

We are reserving one or two back up artists, in case one of the nine listed has to drop out. If the back up artist's comic is not needed, we will have an interactive link saying "read more" or something along those lines leading to the comic. The submission will also be posted on the Comic Fury Zine website as "Bonus" material. If we only fill eight spots or less, the backup comic will be automatically included.
**When you submit, please let us know your handle here on ComicFury, so we know who you are (as some e-mails aren't under the CF names we know and love :3)**
Cover Contest Rules—Deadline for Cover Submissions is April 22, 2022
*Must fit the "In Dreams" theme
*Must be SFW
*No Text, please (unless it's on a sign/T-shirt/etc that's part of the image).
*Please leave a little space for Comic Fury Zine logo (see previous issues for examples). That space can be at the top, or bottom (it's been a the top), but make sure there's parts of the image that can get covered at either end, please.
*Dimensions: 300 dpi, in .png format, fitting the template we provide (5.5 in. x 7.75 in./1650 x 2323 pixels with .25 of that being bleeds around the edges—There should be no important visual elements in the bleed as it will get cut off if someone prints it for distribution).
*Submission Format: .png (we do not want .jpgs) Here is the template. If it does not fit the dimensions, it will be returned until it fits our specifications.
*Submissions must be e-mailed with your consent to CCL to the following address: comicfuryzine@gmail.com

PRIZES!!!!
1st place-Your art is the cover of Summer 2022 Comic Fury Zine (with your handle or name in the credits of the zine), you get a free advert in the zine (you can create a new ad or we can use your cover art of your comic—the latter is the default if you are unable to create an ad, which is fine :D), fanart of your comic from someone in the CF Community, AND you will be our Featured Artist complete with artist interview! We will request an avatar image for the interview page.
2nd place-Fanart request of your comic/OC. Your piece will be noted as runner up in the Zine. Your handle and ComicFury Profile page will also be linked. Your submission will be the back cover of the zine.
**FYI, be aware it may take until after the zine's release to get your fan art prize. We want to make sure they aren't slap-dashed and look good according to our skill levels.
Creator Quotes—Deadline May 1, 2022
Guidelines: keep it either art related or ComicFury related (or both). No hate-mongering: it doesn't serve any purpose. Keep it civil and steer clear of politics. Nothing will drain the fun out of a community project faster than politics o_O
***SPLASH PAGE INFORMATION
We require a commitment of 5 or more characters for approval of a splash page.
Serious applicants only! Please read below for explanation.
If you commit and we have enough interest to warrant a splash page, please, please, please follow through! Splash pages are fun and bring the community together, but they also take a lot of time and care. I've been extremely busy with an ongoing event in my personal life, so I kindly ask that if you say you're gonna do a character, please submit one. I will not create a splash page if we don't have 5 or more characters. I honestly thank you for your understanding and empathy with this. Making these has brought a new appreciation to the CF Crossover comic coordinators who make covers and splash pages for those events. Frickin' mad respect to all those members!
Guidelines for Characters below:

Rules: Draw a character, either from your comic or whatever. This is the community page, so you don't have to have a comic, I'll just link to your profile. The scene will be dream related. I am envisioning something surreal. Use you imagination, and I'll take care of the rest. Must be .png or on a white background. The larger the file, the better, since I shrink them down: please set resolution to 300-500 (please do not send anything that's like 72 resolution). Please e-mail completed characters to comicfuryzine@gmail.com.
