What it says on the tin - be it a character, a species, a place, a logo, whatever! Tell me what you're proud of about it! Are you proud for visual composition reasons? Color choices? Because it gave you trouble but you've smoothed it out? Because you've had it a long time? Is it one you made yourself, or bought and refined? Did you take inspiration from somewhere/something else? This is a legal to be excited and self appreciating zone. Cringe is dead it's 2023, show pictures of said design if you want.

I'm proud of my main character's design :3 He's come a long way from a quickly tossed together guy with a placeholder name for a one-off zelda themed text rp.

OUGH I love this thread already...

One of my recent favorites designs of mine is Hibiscus! I just really like her design, as I'm into mild body horror- extra eyes, huge fangs and claws, stuff like that- but I also like cute things. SO! I think I succeed very well in blending the two- Hibiscus has 6 arms and looks very very adorable. Additionally, she doesn't just look like your stereotypical Polteageist, but you can yell what her species is- it's something I always aim for when making Pokemon designs!!

All in all I just loaf her <3

I'll definitely be back here in the future with more hehe >:3c

I'm pretty proud of one of the designs of my side characters.

This is Tina Partcher! She's a gal that wants to be a big star in the universe. She currently works with her dad at the space refuel station that he owns. I just really like her design, her hair, her outfit, and her personality. She's not the most complicated of characters but that's just another reason I love her, lol.

she's the Lopunny from my storylocke (written story nuzlocke)
(big image i think)

for those who don't know what canon lopunny are like, well...
...yeah.

it was very important to me for her to look Not Like That, so after some tests i decided to go big fluffy big build an that was the best choice honestly. i really really like i what i came up with in the end <3

Alright, round 1.

ERIK GRAVE

I like the soft, muted colors that he has. I also like the contrast with his overall character-- he's a Possessor, which is a terrifying ability, but he both looks and acts meek. Also, gloves and boots are fun to draw.

BLONDIE VALENTINE

She's so pink! My favorite part of her design are her heart-shaped Mary-Jane shoes. She also has unique eyes that seem somewhat doll-like, which is neat. Also ribbon.

SEBASTIAN FLEUR

Half-fairies are usually portrayed as humans with wings, yet I chose a monstrous, Frankenstein-esque design where the human and fairy parts are juxtaposed. Not only is it fun (but tricky) to draw, it also makes it clear why he's an outcast. It helps that Sebastian is a bard with a cheerful persona, and he normally wears a red coat and a wide-brimmed hat.

XAVIERELLA DARKBLOOM

I'm aware that this isn't the most striking or original design out there. But I like her dark, flowing hair. The plum-purple of her dress also happens to be one of my favorite colors (my favorite being lavender). She's a character that can either be a beautiful seductress or a hideous beast, depending on how you see the design.

To not be basic and not say 'the MC!' I'll pick someone from the rest of the cast and that's GOTTA be Dawn. I projected my favorite type of a character design SO hard on her (and it's fun, because my tastes in women are not exactly 'conventional', therefore I don't see characters like this often in other media, therefore I self-indulged with no care in the world). The color of her hair dye is also fun and the fact that she uses crutches (or other mobility aids depending on how bad the day is) challenges me to navigate her posing and space interactions in a different way sometimes, which is always good.

But also I do really love my MC with all her little scars and amber eyes and perpetually scruffed look, and the way I chose to visually depict her condition is so interesting to implement every time it hits her in different ways. It's really probably the thing I'm proud of the absolute most, but I'm not gonna attach 100500 pics to demonstrate every approach I had so far, especially since it's not exactly a design thing. This one works nicely :3

uhhh of the images I currently have available to me...

These three doofuses (Sage, Anna, and Carter)

All three of them were originally created for last year's 30 Days Of Characters, and the more I look at their original designs, the more I realize they were ROUGH, but over time I've managed to refine them so much. Sage was just kind of a character that was bouncing around in my head for a while, and I love how hot he's turned out. I love Anna because out of all my character designs, she's the most cartoonish: short, big ol' beak, exaggerated body proportions, manages to be equal parts comical and intimidating, I love her. Carter is so different from all of my other character designs (since, well, he's got limbs) and I can still never quite figure out how the fuck his wings work, but I love drawing him. I think he's neat.

Also Lissa

Yeah, I've been drawing her for for years now but I think I've gotten her design down to just the right balance of stronk and sexy, exaggerated yet appealing. She's just really fun to draw.

I'm really happy with my antagonist's design. He has gone through a lot since his first design in 2010.

His original name was also "Redar" in 2010. In 2011, I decided to change his name. He is no longer a mutated wolf, too. I will not give out what he's actually mixed with till we get to that part of the comic. :3

ngl even while actively looking, i have not found other comics with /!\ respectful and non-caricature /!\ portrayals trans women who look like Tabitha (flat and hairy) or act like her (catty and belligerent)- so while she's just an iconic bitch in her own right, im very proud of this particular outfit for her (the "Hagazusa suit" as per the design doc) because of how it combines the best elements from all of her previous appearances, with lots of that leather sheen i love and loathe so much. AND cleavage.

Images are SFW but very big, therefore spoilered:

Design doc (ungodly huge)

I've always been fond of Piccollus's design. It's one of those one where I'm glad it was only around for one chapter since it's fairly intricate, but it's nice and demony and I wish I could've used that demon more.

PART 2

Tasha was designed with literally one concept in mind: tanlines. She basically became this adorably sexy surfer girl beach bum, and I love her so much.

Kaiden was another design with literally one concept: transmasc bird. He's so adorable, he's got a great characterization, and I have big plans with him in the future.

TOBY!!!!!!!!!!! Dude's literally the epitome of "dumb, lovable, yet borderline obnoxious teen", he's so cute and colorful, I'd 100% buy a plush of him if they existed. He also lets me say that I have Great Tits and technically not lie.

Don't know if sketches count, but nailing the base design of the blipbug mc and the rest of the orbeetle line was really fun! It's a mix of my own interpretations and having the characters be all bipedal, but I think I nailed it pretty nicely. I also kept orbeetles huge nogging

So a long time ago, I was kicking around the idea of a Mega Man fangame with a completely original set of Robot Masters. Of the eight devised for it, one stands out even to this day...

I still have no good reason to be as proud of Note Man here as I am. He came about after reading a fangame developer's design philosophy about Robot Masters, that every roster has to have at least one "silly" design. That in mind, I just went with a rounder body shape and crammed as many music-themed elements onto him as I could think of. He's just so different from all my other designs, which tended toward the more "conventionally cool" (and therefore pretty generic), that I'm still sort of surprised that he came out of my brain.
