Hello,
Did you know the site is funded entirely the users? It depends on your donations to stay free! Please pledge to the patreon, if you can, to keep the good times going! Even just $3 helps!

I figured I would put that first so people don't have to read me ramble on for 10 years to get the point. Anyway, a bit more than two years ago, I asked the community to chip in to help keep the site funded. And it worked! A massive thank you to everyone who chipped in and continues to chip in! The patrons have been amazingly loyal and I do not take that for granted, I really appreciate it.
Now I don't like bothering people with this kind of stuff, so I've just been mentioning the patreon on news posts I was making anyway and not done any fundraising otherwise. However, as our contributions have now dropped below $800 a month, it's probably time to make a peep about it before pledges continue to drop to a level where it spells trouble. Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking for quit-your-job kind of money, just a bit more of a buffer as the site grows and uses more resources.
So think of this like those annual wikipedia fundraiser thingies. And because the site is funded by people like you, we are not beholden to anyone except the userbase, and features can be developed to benefit the users, not to primarily figure out new ways to squeeze money out of the site.
So if this isn't gonna bankrupt you or anything, please chip in and pledge a few dollars on the patreon. There's not really any real rewards, but in exchange, everyone gets to keep using the site for free, and it's developed with you as the target audience, not nebulous shareholders or big advertisement companies.
You have to be 18 to pledge to the patreon, or get permission from your parents!
