About me
I make art, but don't currently post it online in other places. This is my first art page in a long time, and I admit that I was hesitant, so please be patient with me as I figure out how to get back into the groove of things! I'm in my early thirties, married to the best guy in the universe, and have three cats, and we all live in a Metro Detroit trailer park together. Things that I want in my life include: two dogs, longer D&D sessions, more coffee and cigarettes, and more booze. I'm needy like that.

Straight & Narrow
Straight & Narrow is a period piece set primarily in Detroit in the 1980's, framed up by the Reagan Presidency. It follows the adventures of Jack's Right, a punk band from Hamtramck, Michigan. Their frontman, Jack, is a young gay punk musician with some serious issues, and Ryan, his heroin-addicted boyfriend, keeps a lot of secrets about himself. After meeting at Jack's Right's last show before a long hiatus, their relationship is a roller coaster ride. They fight a lot, Ryan cheats on Jack all the time, and Jack's band just wants to get back together to jam, but their front man needs to get his shit together first. Things get even-more-complicated when an aging Hollywood never-was comes to town to try and film a real-life drama idea that she has, and she finds the perfect stars when Jack puts a guy through a restaurant window for pawing at an uninterested Ryan on their anniversary. Contracts are written, lines are drawn, and a lot of people get seriously hurt in a lot of serious ways.

Straight & Narrow contains graphic themes, including (but not limited to) blood, domestic abuse and violence, drinking, drug use, harsh language, hate speech, nudity, rape, sexual content and overtones, spousal abuse and violence, violence, and vulgar language. If any of those themes offend you, I'm sorry, but this is not the comic for you.

I clicked the "other" box for style, because I didn't see an option for whatever you would call this, and I honestly don't know what to call it. It's an odd mix of photographs of paper images assembled into collages, mixed traditional media (pencils, markers, pens, various papers, etc.), drawn-on Polaroid film and other garbage, and scans of some of the composite pieces. Most of the story is on lined and grid paper. All of the art is made of hand-drawn "straight" lines.

Straight & Narrow currently does not have an update schedule, and the website and comic are still undergoing some construction, so please be patient and pardon our dust while we go through some growing pains!
