The Murderbot Diaries is book series by Martha Wells. It's about an cybernetic construct known as a SecUnit (a lot like the Terminator, but with an actual personality) that has freed itself from it's corporate control and is trying to figure out what it wants out of life. Which mostly involves sitting around watching soap operas. It calls itself Murderbot, but prefers everyone just to call it SecUnit.
