About Me
hi hello, I make comics like these on the internet

I like painting, poetics, and lit crit. I make comics about what it feels like to be alive. They frequently deal with themes of identity, isolation, and the mundane. I want people to feel good about themselves and the world.
My favourite books are Narcissus and Goldmund and Portrait of the Artist.

I also have an art tumblr...!

"Preludes" was a modernist poem written by T. S. Eliot about the disillusionment of the Modernist era. In his poem, he serenades the evening, the smoke, and the withered, dying landscape of the city around him. Later, in his Use of Poetry and the Use of Criticism, he comments that “the essential advantage for a poet is not to have a beautiful world with which to deal: it is to be able to see beneath both beauty and ugliness; to see the boredom, and the horror, and the glory.”

Preludes, the comic, is like that, sort of. Sometimes it’s about being able to look beneath the aesthetic; sometimes it’s about identity, the mundane, or isolation. Whatever it’s about, deep down, it’s about an appreciation of art, literature, and the ability to capture emotion in words and pictures.
