Environmental Awareness
Always be wary when your GM gives you some leeway. Because any leeway they give you, they can easily give to themselves.

Done well, such give and take is great for the game. Done poorly... well... it just makes things that much worse as there's no dice acting as an arbitrator.

Complications
I guess technically it's not really a "save" since he's trying to let an effect happen, but as you can probably guess, Banner/Hulk are a unusual build even by tabletop standards. And it runs off his Will Save in-game, so it seemed easier than creating an entirely different name for it.

If it helps, you could refer to it as a "Check". Me being me, I'm taking that term from GURPS... I think. I dunno. I thought it was pretty common in most RPGs, so for all I know, I got it somewhere else and GURPS doesn't even use it, either. XD

I really like how you're portraying the Hulk transformation in terms of game Mechanics. Any dangerous situation in a ttrpg would almost guarantee that the circumstance bonus would steadily increase until the transformation becomes an inevitability. I wonder if the mutant form has any hidden downsides that our player missed in his initial skimming of the character sheet?
